Here at BJ’s Speedshop we can build you a fully turn key engine using the best performance parts. Your engine will be custom built to your specification. We endeavour to keep a wide variety of engine parts in stock enabling us to start work on your engine straight after commission.

Well, we have a vast background in the world of motor sport, performance road cars and classic touring car racing. As well as building countless air cooled engines, we have built engines ranging from the A Series engine found in a classic mini right through to the turbo charged V6 engine found in a Renault Alpine. We have machined custom engine parts from scratch where off the shelf parts were unavailable – nothing stands in the way! Building engines is a passion, and attention to detail is a top priority. Nothing leaves the workshop until it is spot on.

The VW type 1 air cooled engine is one of the most adaptable engines, with a mass of after market parts available. This enables an almost infinite variety of engine capacities and functions – so your engine can be built to suit specific needs. Whether you need a screaming strip motor, or a torque monster for hauling the 2.4 and all your camping gear – we can build it.
